NFL Betting - Owens Welcomes Eagles To Cincy As A Member Of The Bengals

Week Two of the NFL football betting preseason slate gets underway Thursday in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with the Indianapolis Colts taking on the Buffalo Bills in the annual Canadian preseason game played at the Rogers centre. The real spectacle may be the next night however when fans from Philadelphia make the trip to Cincinnati for an exhibition tilt against wide receiver Terrell Owens and the Bengals. The Eagles looked great on their home field beating the Jacksonville Jaguars 28-27, a score that doesn't accurately illustrate just how well their starters played, and will look for another week of improvement against a Bengals' unit that bounced back with a win over the Denver Broncos following a Hall of Fame game loss to Owen's other former team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Cincinnati Bengals

NFL Betting Line: Bengals - 120
Betting Preview: Eagles
The Kevin Kolb-era officially got underway last Friday in Philadelphia, as the new Eagles' starting quarterback went 6-for-11 for 95 yards, looking impressive in limited action. Former college football betting star Michael Vick gave the offense a boost off the bench, throwing for 119 yards and scrambling for 50 more including a touchdown, which sent fans in to a frenzy. While he still needs some more game experience to get back to the old Michael Vick, the fact that he showed that explosiveness should have fans excited about the options he gives their offense. Philadelphia's defense was just as good against the Jaguars starters, getting excellent BAPE hats wholesale in the Jacksonville backfield and disrupting the timing of David Garrard and company.
Betting Preview: Bengals
Despite the final result from last week's win over Denver, there is still plenty of room for improvement for the Bengals, who were led to victory in large part by their backups. J.T. O'Sullivan led Cincinnati in passing yards with 118 compared to Carson Palmer's 105, and the tandem of Chad Ocho Cinco and Owens once again lacked the explosiveness expected of that duo. The Bengals' defense allowed the Broncos to score consecutive touchdowns that came off the arm of Kyle Orton in the first quarter, quickly falling behind 14-0, which isn't a good sign. It is still early, but now is the time for Cincinnati to show major improvement as the season draws a week closer.

Match Up: Eagles vs Bengals
While the Bengals haven't performed well this preseason, the fact is that the home teams have to be given the edge based on the fact that their fans demand better than a loss, and it seems like coaches understand that and are willing to leave their starters out there longer to get the job done. Still, the Eagles have major depth, especially with Michael Vick coming off of the bench, and their shouldn't be a major letdown as the game progresses with Philadelphia improving to 2-0.
